Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak, including hotel sales, weddings, food and beverage, tourism, diving, and resort operations. Penang combines heritage streets, diverse food, beaches, and a relaxed urban lifestyle. Langkawi provides a slower island setting, strong resort employment, outdoor activities, and an international tourism community. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences; English is widely used in hotels, although Malay is the national language. Living costs are moderate, rising in Kuala Lumpur and popular resort areas. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored employment pass, with approval handled before starting work; requirements vary by nationality and role. Candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, accommodation, transport, medical coverage, service charge, and relocation support. Housing near resorts can be limited, so securing accommodation early is advisable.
