Destination Guide

The UAE is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality and MICE job markets. Opportunities are available in luxury hotels, resorts, airlines, restaurants, events, tourism, retail and corporate services. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage and a highly international population; modest dress and respectful behaviour are expected in public and workplaces. Lifestyle options range from beaches and desert activities to shopping, dining and major cultural events, although housing and schooling can be expensive. Most expatriate employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, with medical checks and Emirates ID registration. Employers commonly provide health insurance and may offer accommodation, transport or air-ticket benefits. Candidates should confirm contract terms, probation, benefits and relocation support before accepting an offer.
