Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, events, restaurants, tourism and corporate services, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak. Langkawi is the main island resort destination, with a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, water activities and a strong seasonal tourism economy. Penang combines heritage culture, excellent food and urban convenience, while Sabah and Sarawak offer nature, island trips and diverse Indigenous cultures. Malaysia is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous traditions reflected in food, festivals and daily life. Living costs are generally moderate, though resort islands can be more expensive and seasonal. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company usually handles much of the application process. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, transport, medical coverage and allowances before relocating. English is widely used in hospitality, while Malay is useful for everyday life.
