Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic destination made up of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, connected by an excellent MTR and ferry network. Hospitality jobs are available in luxury hotels, restaurants, clubs, tourism, retail and events, especially in Central, Admiralty, Tsim Sha Tsui and the airport area. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international business, and workplaces are generally fast-paced and service-focused. Lifestyle options range from dense urban living and varied dining to beaches, hiking trails and nearby islands. Rent can be high, so many newcomers share accommodation or live farther from central districts. Non-local employees normally need an approved employment visa sponsored by an employer before starting work. Prepare recognized qualifications, references, a valid passport and proof of employment.
