Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic city with excellent opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, technology and international business. Hospitality roles are concentrated in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and major resort areas, with strong demand for candidates who speak Cantonese, English or Mandarin. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences, and daily life offers outstanding public transport, diverse food, shopping, hiking and coastal escapes. Housing can be expensive, particularly near Central and popular districts, so many employees live in Kowloon or the New Territories and commute by MTR. Overseas employees generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, usually under the General Employment Policy, and must meet qualification and salary requirements. A valid work visa should be secured before beginning employment; dependants may also qualify for dependant visas.
