The group is known for polished service, distinctive properties and its Asian-inspired approach to hospitality. Its portfolio includes Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders Hotels. In Malaysia, Shangri-La operates established urban and resort properties serving business travellers, leisure guests, conferences and high-end events. Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in luxury hotels, tourism, events, property, technology and international business, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and Johor. The country is culturally diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences reflected in its food, festivals and everyday life. Urban living is convenient and relatively affordable compared with many global cities, while beaches, rainforests and island resorts provide an easy weekend escape. English is widely used in business, although Malay is the official language. Foreign professionals usually need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass; the hiring company normally submits the application and supporting documents. Candidates should confirm eligibility, tax treatment and dependent arrangements before moving. Kuala Lumpur is the main commercial hub, while Langkawi and other islands offer a slower resort lifestyle but fewer senior corporate roles. Healthcare, international schools and transport are generally good in major centres.
