Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities across Jakarta, Bali, Java, Lombok and other tourism destinations. Jakarta is the main corporate and MICE hub, while Bali provides strong demand in resorts, events, sales and guest services. The country has a welcoming, diverse culture shaped by many ethnic groups, languages and religions; respectful dress and awareness of local customs are important. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed coastal communities, with generally affordable food and transport, although central Jakarta and popular Bali areas can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or stay permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocation commonly involves medical checks, document legalisation, housing arrangements and tax registration. Learn basic Bahasa Indonesia, expect tropical weather and allow time to adjust to traffic, humidity and local administrative processes.
