The Assistant Vice President/Senior Manager, Rewards & Benefits will support Shangri-La’s regional compensation and benefits strategy in a six-month contract role. Responsibilities are likely to include salary benchmarking, incentive and bonus planning, benefits review, annual remuneration processes, HR analytics, policy development, and advising senior stakeholders across markets. Candidates should have substantial experience in regional rewards, compensation and benefits, ideally within a large hospitality, multinational, or service organisation. Strong knowledge of Hong Kong employment practices, market data, HR systems, and financial analysis is expected. The successful candidate should be commercially minded, discreet, detail-oriented, confident presenting to senior leaders, and able to manage confidential information, competing deadlines, and cross-border projects independently.
Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised for its hotels, resorts, residences, and service-focused guest experience. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets under brands including Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La, and Traders. Its corporate functions support a large, geographically diverse workforce and cover areas such as human resources, finance, commercial strategy, operations, technology, and guest experience. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on Asian-inspired hospitality, employee development, service excellence, and long-term relationships with guests and business partners. A regional rewards and benefits position would typically involve collaboration with corporate and hotel leadership, ensuring remuneration practices remain competitive, consistent, legally compliant, and aligned with the organisation’s talent and business objectives.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, professional services, technology, retail, and regional corporate functions. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions, international business, British influences, festivals, excellent food, and a fast-paced urban lifestyle. Although Hong Kong is a territory of islands and mainland districts rather than one island alone, it provides easy access to beaches, hiking trails, outlying islands, and vibrant neighbourhoods. Housing is expensive, but public transport is efficient and widely used. International schools, hospitals, restaurants, and professional networks are readily available. Most foreign professionals need an employment visa arranged through an approved sponsoring employer; applicants generally need a confirmed job, suitable qualifications or experience, and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Dependants may usually apply for dependant visas. Before relocating, candidates should confirm taxation, housing allowances, medical coverage, contract duration, and visa sponsorship with the employer.
