Destination Guide

Although the UAE is not an island, it is a highly connected Gulf country offering strong opportunities in banking, wealth management, technology, real estate, tourism, logistics, healthcare, and professional services. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the main employment centers, with international workplaces and extensive expatriate communities. The culture combines Islamic traditions, hospitality, and modern global lifestyles; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Residents enjoy beaches, shopping, restaurants, desert activities, and year-round sunshine, though summers are extremely hot. Most foreign employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas, usually supported by a formal employment contract and medical screening. Relocating families may also need dependent visas, health insurance, housing, and school arrangements. Salaries are generally tax-free on personal income, but living costs, especially rent and education, can be high.
