Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, business services, media and multinational corporate operations. Dublin is the main employment centre, while Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford also have growing professional markets. Irish workplaces are generally collaborative and informal, with English used widely and good value placed on communication and work-life balance. The lifestyle includes lively cities, historic towns, coastal scenery and easy access to outdoor activities, although housing and rent—especially in Dublin—can be expensive. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa. Non-EEA applicants usually need an employment permit, commonly arranged with employer support, before starting work. Relocating candidates should budget for accommodation, transport, health insurance where appropriate and proof of funds. Ireland’s mild climate is convenient, but frequent rain and changeable weather are typical.
