Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in financial services, fund administration, technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, engineering, and professional services, particularly in Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Limerick. The culture is generally friendly, sociable, and community-oriented, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle highlights include historic towns, coastal scenery, music, sport, and a lively pub and café culture. Housing, especially in Dublin, can be expensive and competitive, so securing accommodation early is important. EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals can generally live and work without an employment permit. Non-EEA citizens normally need an employment permit and, depending on nationality and stay length, an immigration visa or registration. Critical Skills and General Employment Permits may apply to eligible roles, subject to salary and occupation rules. New arrivals should arrange tax registration, a Personal Public Service number, banking, healthcare access, and suitable transport. Ireland's weather is mild but changeable, with frequent rain.
