Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in banking, asset management, fintech, insurance, consulting, technology, logistics, healthcare, and professional services. The city has a fast-paced, international business culture, with English widely used in offices and Cantonese dominant in daily life; Mandarin is also valuable. Its lifestyle combines dense urban neighborhoods, excellent restaurants, shopping, efficient public transport, beaches, hiking trails, and nearby islands. Housing is expensive, especially near Central, but public transport makes commuting from areas such as Kowloon or the New Territories practical. Most overseas professionals need an employment visa sponsored by an approved employer. Applicants generally need a confirmed job, relevant qualifications or experience, and a salary meeting market standards. Dependants can usually apply for accompanying visas. Before relocating, arrange housing, health coverage, banking, tax advice, and documentation, and check current Immigration Department requirements.
