Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island country, but Dubai offers a coastal lifestyle with beaches, desert activities, shopping, dining and an international expatriate community. Hospitality, tourism, events, aviation, retail, real estate and business services provide substantial employment opportunities, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a diverse global workforce; modest dress and respectful behavior are expected in public and religious settings. Summers are extremely hot, while winter is comfortable for outdoor activities. Most overseas employees require an employer-sponsored residence visa and work permit, usually arranged after the employment offer and medical checks. Employers may also assist with health insurance, accommodation or transport, depending on the package. Candidates should verify contract terms, salary, benefits, probation conditions and recruitment costs before relocating.
