Category Manager

Job Description

The Category Manager is responsible for developing and delivering category strategies that achieve value, quality, risk management and supplier-performance objectives. Requirements typically include experience in strategic procurement, category management, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management and commercial analysis, preferably within manufacturing, steel, construction or a related industrial environment. Strong communication, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder-management skills are expected, together with the ability to work collaboratively across operations, finance, engineering and business teams. The successful candidate should be commercially minded, customer focused and capable of managing competing priorities while identifying cost savings, improving supply continuity and supporting BlueScope’s sustainability and governance standards.
