Job Description

The Revenue Trainee supports the hotel’s revenue and reservations team by monitoring room availability, rates, demand, occupancy and competitor pricing. Typical requirements include studies or training in hospitality, tourism, business or a related field, good numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and confidence using Microsoft Office or hotel systems. Spanish and English are generally expected; additional languages are useful in an international resort environment. Previous hotel, reservations or revenue-management experience may be helpful but is not always essential for a trainee position.

Company Info

Founded in Mallorca, the group operates hotels and resorts in destinations across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia under brands including Meliá, ME by Meliá, INNSiDE, Paradisus and Sol by Meliá. Its properties cover leisure resorts, city hotels, luxury accommodation and long-stay experiences. Meliá places strong emphasis on guest service, sustainability, digital development and international career opportunities. The company employs people in hotel operations, food and beverage, commercial functions, finance, technology and corporate services. A trainee role can provide practical exposure to hotel systems, pricing decisions, forecasting and collaboration with reservations, sales and front-office teams, particularly in a busy island resort environment.

Destination Guide

Spain’s main hotel islands include Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Tourism creates opportunities in revenue management, reservations, front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, events and guest services, although many roles are seasonal and competition is strongest before summer. Island culture combines Spanish traditions, Mediterranean or Canarian food, outdoor living, festivals and a relaxed social atmosphere. Lifestyle benefits include beaches, hiking, water sports and mild weather, but housing can be expensive and limited in popular areas. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa, subject to registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-supported work permit or another valid residence route. Candidates should confirm contract terms, accommodation, transport, insurance and local registration before relocating; Spanish is valuable, while English is widely used in tourism.
