Job Description

The Cocinero/a prepares and cooks dishes according to Meliá’s recipes, quality standards and food-safety procedures. Requirements typically include professional kitchen experience, knowledge of basic culinary techniques, hygiene and allergen regulations, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods. Training in cookery or hospitality is desirable. Candidates are expected to be organised, reliable, team-oriented and flexible with shifts, weekends and public holidays. The role also involves maintaining a clean workstation, controlling portions and ingredients, minimising waste, supporting colleagues and delivering consistent food quality. Spanish is generally useful, while additional languages and experience in hotel kitchens are advantageous.
