Working in Spain Islands

Spain’s islands, including the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands, offer strong employment opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, wellness, entertainment, and customer service. Gran Canaria combines beaches, volcanic landscapes, lively resort areas, and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Local culture includes Spanish traditions, island festivals, seafood, Canarian cuisine, and a friendly social atmosphere. The climate is mild throughout much of the year, although costs and wages vary between tourist areas and local communities. EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals can work without a visa but must complete registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment. Relocating usually requires arranging accommodation, obtaining a foreigner identification number where applicable, registering for social security, and opening a bank account. Seasonal staff should confirm housing, contract terms, working hours, and transport before moving.
