Destination Guide

The UAE is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality and MICE job markets. Opportunities are available in hotels, resorts, restaurants, events, tourism, retail and aviation, especially for candidates with international sales experience and strong corporate networks. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage and a highly international population. Respectful dress, punctuality and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, shopping and dining to desert activities and cultural attractions, although summer temperatures are extremely high. Most expatriates require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange medical checks, Emirates ID processing and work permits. Relocation packages may include accommodation, transport, insurance and annual flights, but this varies. Candidates should verify contract terms, probation rules, housing costs and visa sponsorship before accepting an offer.
