Job Description

The Assistant Events Manager supports the planning, sales and delivery of conferences, weddings, meetings and other events for Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Golden Sands Resort in Penang. Requirements typically include a diploma or degree in hospitality, events, marketing or a related field, together with experience in hotel event coordination or banquet sales. Strong communication, negotiation, organisation and customer-service skills are expected. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing several events simultaneously, preparing proposals and quotations, coordinating with culinary and operations teams, conducting site inspections, and ensuring smooth event execution. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, along with professional English and a guest-focused attitude, is important.
