Dubai and Abu Dhabi are major centers for international conferences, exhibitions and luxury travel, creating demand for MICE sales professionals. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage and a highly international expatriate community. English is widely used in business, while Arabic is the official language. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert excursions and shopping to restaurants, cultural attractions and modern entertainment. Most expatriates live in apartment communities and should budget carefully for rent, transport, healthcare and schooling. Employees normally require an employer-sponsored residence visa, work permit and medical examination. The employer often assists with documentation, insurance and relocation, although terms vary. Candidates should verify contracts, benefits, housing allowances and visa conditions before accepting an offer.
