Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and recognized internationally for its hotels, resorts and distinctive service culture. The company operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other major destinations. Its hotels typically combine upscale accommodation with restaurants, lounges, wellness facilities, meeting spaces and resort amenities. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on warm, personalized guest service, high operating standards and colleague development. In the United Arab Emirates, its properties serve leisure travelers, business guests, families and events, creating a professional and multicultural working environment. Culinary employees work within structured kitchen brigades and are expected to maintain consistency, hygiene, presentation and efficiency. Benefits and employment conditions vary by property and contract, but hospitality roles in the UAE commonly include staff accommodation or an allowance, meals, transportation, medical coverage and annual leave.

Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with extensive coastlines, beaches and several resort islands. Hospitality offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, resorts, events and tourism, particularly in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. The culture is multicultural and respectful, with Islamic traditions influencing dress, public behavior and holidays. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert excursions and shopping to international dining and nightlife. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are comfortable and popular for outdoor activities. Most overseas employees require an employer-sponsored residence and work visa; the employer generally arranges medical checks, Emirates ID processing and permits. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, leave, probation and return-flight terms before accepting. Living costs can be high, especially in Dubai, so staff housing and transportation are valuable benefits.
