Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and other resort destinations, particularly in hotels, restaurants, tourism, wellness and events. Bali is the most international market, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide stronger corporate and city-hotel employment. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, family and religious diversity; workplaces are generally multicultural and relationship-oriented. Lifestyle options range from beaches and outdoor activities to busy cities, with traffic and seasonal tourism affecting daily life. Foreign nationals normally require employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and stay permit, commonly arranged through the hiring company. Candidates should not work on a tourist visa. Relocation packages may include accommodation, meals, flights, insurance and transportation, but terms vary by contract. Costs are moderate outside central Bali and Jakarta, and learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly useful. Visa rules can change, so applicants should confirm requirements with the employer and Indonesian immigration authorities.
