Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other resort destinations. Langkawi is especially attractive for island-resort work, with jobs in hotels, restaurants, spa services, recreation and guest relations; Penang combines tourism with a lively food and heritage scene. Malaysian culture is multicultural, shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous communities, and English is widely used in hotels. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, although resort islands may have fewer amenities and higher prices than major cities. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and should secure approval before starting work. Employers often assist with immigration, accommodation, flights or relocation, but arrangements vary. Candidates should confirm salary, housing, transport, medical coverage and contract terms, and check current visa rules with Malaysian authorities or the employer.
