Job Description

The Director of Events Management leads the planning, sales, and delivery of conferences, weddings, meetings, banquets, and other events. Candidates typically need a degree in hospitality, business, or a related field, together with substantial experience in hotel events, catering, or banquet operations, ideally in a luxury property. Strong leadership, sales, budgeting, negotiation, communication, and customer-service skills are expected. The role requires close coordination with culinary, food and beverage, front office, and operations teams; development of event packages; revenue management; and consistent delivery of Shangri-La service standards. The successful candidate should be commercially minded, highly organized, confident with clients, and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
