Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with strong hospitality opportunities on Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and resort islands such as Bintan. Luxury hotels, villas, restaurants and cruise-related businesses regularly seek chefs, food-and-beverage managers, engineers and guest-service professionals. Bali offers an international lifestyle, beaches, wellness and a large expatriate community, while Jakarta provides broader corporate and hotel opportunities. Local culture values respect, community, modesty and religious diversity; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is helpful. Living costs vary widely, with tourist areas generally more expensive. Foreign employees normally require employer sponsorship for a work permit and KITAS, and should not work on a tourist visa. Employers may provide accommodation, meals, insurance, flights and relocation assistance. Candidates should verify visa requirements, contract terms, tax obligations and destination-specific living arrangements before moving.
