Company Info

Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong. Established in 1971, it operates hotels, resorts, and related hospitality businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Shangri-La is known for warm Asian hospitality, personalised guest service, elegant accommodation, and high standards in dining, wellness, and events. Its Hong Kong properties include luxury hotels serving business travellers, leisure guests, and major events. The group offers career opportunities across hotel operations, food and beverage, culinary services, finance, engineering, sales, and guest relations. Employees typically work in multicultural teams and receive exposure to international hospitality standards, structured training, and opportunities for internal progression. Exact benefits and working conditions depend on the specific property and employment contract.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, and international business. The hospitality sector is competitive and values language skills, professional presentation, and experience with international guests. Life combines dense urban neighbourhoods, excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, nightlife, hiking trails, beaches, and nearby islands such as Lantau and Cheung Chau. Rent can be high, particularly in central districts, so many employees live farther from work or share accommodation. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored employment visa, and the role must meet immigration requirements regarding qualifications, salary, and genuine local need. Employers commonly assist with visa documentation, but applicants should confirm details with Hong Kong Immigration. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, healthcare coverage, and an Octopus travel card. Cantonese is widely spoken; English is common in hotels and business.
