Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state and a major hub for hospitality, tourism, aviation, finance and international business. Hotel professionals may find opportunities with luxury resorts, business hotels, serviced residences, restaurants, attractions and event venues. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Public transport is efficient, healthcare and infrastructure are strong, and neighborhoods offer varied dining and lifestyle options. Living costs, especially rent, are high, so accommodation and benefits should be reviewed carefully. Foreign hires generally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to current salary, qualification and regulatory requirements. Applicants should secure approval before starting work, arrange suitable housing and budget for deposits, transport and daily expenses. Singapore has a tropical climate, year-round heat and frequent rain.
