Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and other resort islands. Bali has the largest international tourism market, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide stronger corporate and city-hotel opportunities. Lombok and eastern islands offer resort roles and a quieter lifestyle. Local culture values respect, family, community, and religious diversity; modest dress and sensitivity to ceremonies are important. Living costs vary considerably, with Bali’s popular areas often more expensive than smaller cities. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate limited-stay work visa, with the employer handling much of the process. Employment must comply with Indonesian immigration and labor rules, and working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, service charge, taxation, contract terms, and relocation support before accepting an offer.
