Destination Guide

Singapore is a highly connected island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and education. Its culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and neighbourhoods. Daily life is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare, and many dining and entertainment options. Living costs, especially rent, are relatively high, so accommodation and transport should be planned carefully. Foreign employees generally need an approved work pass arranged through their employer, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or relevant Work Permit; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, and sector requirements. New arrivals should budget for housing deposits, utilities, insurance, and a local bank account. English is widely used at work, making relocation easier for international hospitality professionals.
