Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with major employment centers on Java, including Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bandung. Jakarta offers the broadest opportunities in hospitality sales, hotels, tourism, events, finance, technology, and multinational business. Bali is especially strong for resorts, villas, restaurants, wellness, and tourism, while destinations such as Lombok, Batam, and the Riau Islands offer growing resort and travel roles. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, respect for hierarchy, and relationship-building; English is useful in international hospitality, while Bahasa Indonesia is important for daily life. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living in Jakarta to a more relaxed coastal pace on Bali or Lombok. Foreign nationals generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and stay visa; tourist visas do not authorize employment. Relocation planning should include housing, health insurance, transport, taxes, and local registration requirements.
