Destination Guide

Thailand is not one island but a country with diverse mainland and island destinations, including Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, Krabi’s islands and the Phi Phi group. Hospitality opportunities are strongest in hotels, resorts, restaurants, bakeries, diving centers and wellness businesses, with additional careers in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Island life is generally relaxed, social and outdoors-focused, offering beaches, snorkeling, markets and excellent food, though costs and seasonal work patterns vary. Thai culture values politeness, respect, modest dress at temples and considerate behavior. Foreign workers normally need a job offer, a Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit; employers usually assist with the process. A passport, certified qualifications, medical checks and legalized documents may be required. Check current immigration rules before relocating, and budget for housing, deposits, transport and health insurance.
