Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, modern island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology and healthcare. Its culture is multicultural, blending Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work. The lifestyle is safe, clean and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks and easy access to Southeast Asia. Living costs, especially rent, are relatively high, so employer accommodation or housing support should be checked. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and experience, with the Employment Pass or S Pass commonly used for skilled hospitality roles. Candidates should secure approval before starting work and arrange medical checks, accommodation and local banking after arrival. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
