Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Singapore and recognised internationally for its hotels, resorts, residences, and distinctive Asian-inspired service. The company operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other major destinations. Shangri-La Singapore is a well-established luxury hotel offering accommodation, restaurants, lounges, banquet facilities, wellness services, and event spaces. Its service culture places strong emphasis on genuine hospitality, personalised guest experiences, quality, and teamwork. Culinary employees may work in a multicultural environment with structured operating standards, food-safety procedures, and opportunities to develop their skills across different kitchen sections. Benefits and conditions vary by position and contract, but hospitality roles commonly include staff meals, uniforms, training, medical support, and employee-rate accommodation or travel benefits where applicable.

Destination Guide

Singapore is a highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, tourism, events, retail, finance, technology, and healthcare. Hospitality workers benefit from an international environment and exposure to guests and colleagues from many cultures. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin and other languages can be useful. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, varied food, shopping, parks, and nightlife. Housing can be expensive, especially near central areas, so shared accommodation is common for hospitality employees. Foreign candidates need a work pass arranged by an eligible employer; the appropriate permit depends on nationality, salary, qualifications, and role, and approval is not automatic. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, medical coverage, working hours, overtime, and deductions before accepting an offer. Singapore’s warm, humid climate and fast-paced service culture also require adaptability.
