Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a Gulf federation rather than an island, offering strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, retail, events and business services. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have the broadest hospitality job markets, while Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah also offer resort and hotel roles. The culture combines Arab and Islamic traditions with a highly international population; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches and desert activities to shopping, dining and cultural attractions, although accommodation and transport can be expensive. Employers usually sponsor work visas, medical checks and Emirates ID processing, and a valid employment offer is required before working. Candidates should confirm salary, housing, transport, insurance, leave and probation terms. UAE nationals may receive additional support through Emiratization initiatives.
