Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, financial crime prevention, compliance, technology, healthcare, logistics and professional services. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work. Life is convenient and generally safe, supported by excellent public transport, healthcare and digital services. Housing and daily expenses can be high, particularly in central areas, although salaries in professional banking roles are often competitive. Employment Pass eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and Singapore’s prevailing assessment criteria; employers normally submit the application. Dependants may qualify for separate passes subject to requirements. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, a local bank account, mobile service and health coverage. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. The island’s compact size makes it easy to explore neighbourhoods, parks, hawker centres, beaches and nearby regional destinations.
