The Collections Driver collects mail and parcels from Royal Mail customers, post offices, business sites and collection points, then transports them safely to the appropriate processing or delivery facility. Requirements typically include a valid UK driving licence, safe and responsible driving, good geographical knowledge, physical fitness for loading and unloading, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings or weekends. Candidates are expected to be dependable, punctual, customer-focused and comfortable working independently. Previous commercial driving, courier or logistics experience is useful but may not always be essential.
