Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai offering particularly strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail and events. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected, especially during Ramadan. Dubai provides modern housing, public transport, beaches, shopping, entertainment and a generally warm, sunny climate, although summers are extremely hot. Hospitality jobs commonly include employer-sponsored residence visas, medical testing, Emirates ID processing and sometimes accommodation, meals, transport and flights. Candidates should confirm these benefits, working hours, probation terms and gratuity arrangements before accepting an offer. Employees normally cannot work legally without the appropriate permit and visa sponsorship. Living costs vary considerably, with shared accommodation being a practical option for entry-level workers.
