Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied opportunities across Java, Bali, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and the eastern islands. Jakarta and surrounding Java provide the widest range of corporate, hotel, airport, finance, technology, and education jobs, while Bali is especially strong in tourism, resorts, restaurants, wellness, and events. Indonesian culture values politeness, respect for hierarchy, community, and religious diversity. Lifestyle ranges from busy metropolitan living in Jakarta to slower coastal and island communities, with generally affordable food and transport but higher rents in central Jakarta and Bali. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate work or internship visa, sponsorship, and supporting documentation; tourist visas do not authorize employment. Students should confirm the correct permit with the employer and Indonesian immigration authorities before traveling. Relocation planning should include health insurance, accommodation, local transport, weather, language basics, and cultural etiquette.
