Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest number of hospitality, culinary, tourism, retail, and business opportunities. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected, especially during Ramadan. Dubai offers beaches, restaurants, shopping, desert excursions, and an active expatriate community, while Abu Dhabi is generally quieter and more spacious. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, with the company usually arranging medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and labor documentation. Relocation packages may include accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, and annual airfare, depending on the employer. Living costs can be high, particularly for private housing, so applicants should clarify benefits, working hours, leave, and service-charge arrangements before accepting an offer. Public transport is good in major cities, though many resorts provide staff transport.
