Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates, rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest hospitality opportunities. Hotels, restaurants, resorts, airlines, and entertainment venues regularly recruit international staff, including chefs and culinary supervisors. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle; respectful dress, courtesy, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Dubai offers modern housing, shopping, beaches, public transport, and year-round sunshine, although summers are extremely hot and living costs can be high. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, work permit, medical testing, and Emirates ID after hiring; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocation packages may include accommodation or an allowance, meals, transport, insurance, and flights. Always confirm contract terms, probation, gratuity, and accommodation before accepting an offer.
