Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao, and other resort destinations. Hotels, restaurants, cruise-related businesses, and tourism companies regularly recruit chefs, service staff, housekeeping professionals, and managers. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, and welcoming, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle costs vary: Manila offers more career options but heavier traffic and higher rent, while provincial and island destinations provide a slower pace and easier access to beaches and nature. Foreign nationals must secure an employer-sponsored work authorization, commonly including an Alien Employment Permit and a 9(g) work visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm requirements with the employer and Philippine immigration authorities. Relocation planning should cover accommodation, medical insurance, transport, banking, and local registration. The dry season is generally December to May, while June to November can bring heavy rain and typhoons.
