Job Description

The Junior Sous Chef – Pastry supports the Pastry Chef and kitchen leadership in preparing breads, cakes, desserts, and other pastry products to consistent Marriott standards. Requirements generally include professional pastry or culinary training, previous experience in a hotel, resort, bakery, or high-volume kitchen, sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene, and the ability to supervise junior colleagues. The successful candidate is expected to organize daily production, maintain quality and presentation, control ingredients and waste, follow recipes, support menu preparation, and keep work areas clean and well managed. Flexibility, teamwork, creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays are important.
