Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai offering the largest concentration of hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, and business jobs. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values, and a highly international workforce. Respectful dress, punctuality, modest public behavior, and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Abu Dhabi offers a modern, safe lifestyle with beaches, malls, restaurants, cultural attractions, and desert activities, though summer heat is intense. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; the employer commonly arranges medical testing, Emirates ID processing, and labor documentation. Candidates should confirm salary, service charge, accommodation, transport, insurance, annual leave, flights, and probation terms before relocating. A passport, authenticated qualifications where required, and a clean employment history may be needed. Housing costs vary greatly, so employer-provided accommodation can significantly affect take-home value.
