Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a coastal lifestyle with beaches, marinas and resort communities. Dubai provides strong opportunities in hospitality, restaurants, tourism, events and luxury retail, while Abu Dhabi and other emirates also have expanding hotel markets. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international workforce; respectful dress and conduct are important, particularly during Ramadan and at religious sites. Lifestyle options range from beach activities and desert trips to shopping, dining and fitness. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; the employer normally arranges medical testing, Emirates ID processing and work authorization. Before relocating, confirm accommodation, transport, health insurance, probation terms, gratuity, leave and airfare benefits. Dubai is convenient but relatively expensive, so budgeting for housing and daily expenses is essential.
