Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Ajman, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality offers regular opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, catering, tourism and events, particularly for trained chefs and candidates with international experience. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large multicultural workforce; modest dress, courtesy, punctuality and respect for local customs are important. Lifestyle ranges from affordable, relaxed coastal living in Ajman to busier and more expensive city life in Dubai. Employers normally sponsor an employment visa, work permit, medical examination and Emirates ID for overseas hires. Before relocating, confirm salary, service charge, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, leave and flight benefits in writing. Bring certificates, passport documents and experience letters, and budget for initial personal expenses. Public transport is developing, while taxis and private vehicles are widely used.
