Destination Guide

Japan offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, technology, education, healthcare, and international business, with Kyoto particularly strong in luxury hospitality and cultural tourism. Workplace culture values punctuality, respect, teamwork, presentation, and careful attention to detail. Kyoto provides a slower, historic lifestyle with excellent public transport, seasonal festivals, traditional neighborhoods, and easy access to Osaka; housing and daily costs can be significant. Foreign nationals normally need a work-eligible residence status before starting employment. Hospitality roles may use the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services status, while other positions may require a specified-skills pathway or another appropriate visa. Employers may assist with sponsorship, documentation, accommodation, and relocation, but requirements vary. Applicants should confirm qualifications, Japanese-language expectations, health insurance, taxes, and local registration procedures before moving.
