Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai offering particularly strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, tourism, retail, and aviation. Hospitality workers can find roles ranging from entry-level kitchen positions to specialist chef and management jobs, especially in luxury resorts and large hotel groups. UAE culture combines Islamic traditions, Arabic heritage, and a highly international population; respectful dress and behavior are important. Dubai offers modern transport, shopping, beaches, entertainment, and year-round sunshine, although summers are extremely hot. Most expatriates need an employer-sponsored residence and work visa; employers commonly arrange medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and permits after hiring. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, contract terms, and return-ticket provisions before relocating. The cost of living varies considerably, with shared accommodation often used by hospitality employees.
