Destination Guide

Phuket and nearby islands offer strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, wellness, marine activities, retail, and travel services. Naka Island is quieter and more resort-focused, while Phuket provides broader access to housing, shopping, hospitals, nightlife, and international transport. Thai culture values respect, patience, hospitality, and thoughtful communication; modest dress and polite behavior are appreciated, especially outside tourist areas. Island life offers beaches, warm weather, seafood, outdoor activities, and a relaxed pace, although seasonal tourism can make work demanding. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit before legally working. Employers may assist with documentation, accommodation, meals, transport, health insurance, and service charge, but these benefits should be confirmed in writing. Relocation planning should include a passport, qualifications, references, medical documents, and a budget for initial housing and living costs.
