Destination Guide

The Philippines offers opportunities in shared services, accounting, taxation, technology, outsourcing, healthcare, tourism, and engineering, with major employment centers in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-friendly, and relationship-driven. Life in Metro Manila provides extensive dining, shopping, entertainment, and professional networking, but traffic and commuting can be challenging. Cebu offers a more relaxed urban lifestyle with beaches nearby, while other islands provide lower living costs and outdoor activities. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work visa or permit; requirements vary by nationality and role, so employer and immigration guidance is important. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, utilities, and health insurance, and confirm whether relocation assistance is included. The dry season is typically November to April, while the wet season runs from May to October, with occasional typhoons. Local salaries are commonly paid in Philippine pesos.
