Destination Guide

Qatar is a peninsula rather than an island, with Doha as its main commercial and employment centre. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, healthcare and business services offer regular job opportunities, particularly for experienced international workers. Local culture is shaped by Islamic traditions, family values and Gulf hospitality; modest dress and respectful behaviour are important. Doha offers modern malls, restaurants, museums, beaches and desert excursions, while summers are extremely hot and humid. Employers commonly arrange work visas, residence permits, medical checks and sometimes accommodation, meals or transport. Employees should confirm the complete package before accepting an offer, including contract terms, working hours, benefits and probation conditions. A passport, authenticated documents and medical clearance may be required for relocation. Qatar has no personal income tax on most employee salaries, but living costs can be high, especially for private accommodation.
